Who are you? What’s your background?
Hi, I'm Noah. I currently work as a freelance web designer/developer, but I have a number of side-projects, open-source projects, and ministry initiatives that otherwise keep me busy. Velocity Lapse is one of the side/passion projects I work on, funded by sales of the in-app purchase.
Just a few weeks ago I had thought of the idea to host a forum dedicated to mobile time-lapse photography and related topics —and so here it is. I'd like to get to know you all.
How did you get into time-lapse photography?
I have fond memories of my brother and I (about 7 years ago) using an app on an old Android tablet to capture time-lapses of mushrooms appearing and disappearing in our greenhouse. The mushrooms would mysteriously appear early morning, and disappear a few hours later. It was really fun to watch as a time-lapse.
About a year and a half ago, I rediscovered time-lapse photography with an idea to create a time-lapse app for Android. That app is Velocity Lapse. Since then, I've captured well over 100 time-lapses.
What type of time-lapses do you create?
Most of the time-lapses are of natural events (clouds, sunsets, ice melting, etc) due to my already existing passion for landscape nature photography and art. I love capturing the beauty of our Heavenly Father's Creation.
