[Resolved] Nightsky/Stars Timelapse

Hi, thanks for your amazing work. I tried to use the app for a timelapse of the night sky. I set a long exposure time (20 seconds) and an interval of 1 second. So I expected the acquisition of a frame every 21 seconds. But after waiting more than 1 hour, I only got 34 frames instead of almost 200. What did I do wrong? Thanks for the help!

Hi majordom, the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is:

There is a known bug where on some devices, while your setting long shutter-speed times, it queues up: meaning that even once it starts capturing it will have to go through all that queued up time before actually capturing. This issue is on the backlog and I hope to solve the issue soon.

The other possibility, is it may be related to something specific to your device (something prevents capturing a photo on time) or the capture just ended too soon altogether. If you could share your Android version and device model, I could take a look and let you know.

majordom The issue with long shutter speeds should be fixed in the next update (tested on a Pixel 6 device).

majordom some other info: camera settings allows max ISO 6400 and max exposure time 30s, but in timelapse mode maximum shutter speed is limited to 1/30s (while ISO still 6400), not enough to capture stars in nightsky

majordom the shutter speed value in Velocity Lapse is dependent on what your device allows third-party apps to access. Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, there isn't much I can do to get around the limitation for Xiaomi devices.
